Description

Hardrace Rear Sway Bar 25.4mm for Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, VIII and IX CT9A – 3-Way Adjustable 7-Piece Kit

Take control of your Evo's handling balance with Hardrace's 3-way adjustable 25.4mm rear sway bar. Three holes let you set the rear roll stiffness from mild to aggressive, which is ideal for matching the car to your tyres, springs and driving style.

The kit includes hardened rubber bushes and reinforced mounts, and the tubular bar is heat treated for strength. It bolts into the CT9A's factory rear mounting points.

Key Features

  • 3-way adjustable rear roll stiffness
  • High-tensile, heat-treated tubular steel
  • Hardened rubber bushes with reinforced mounts
  • Direct replacement for the CT9A rear bar
  • Complete 7-piece kit
  • Pairs with the Hardrace Evo 7-9 front bar

What's in the Kit?

  • 1 x 25.4mm adjustable rear anti-roll bar
  • Hardened rubber bushes, reinforced mounts and fittings (7 pieces in total)

Fitment

  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 CT9A (2001-2003)
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 CT9A (2003-2005)
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 CT9A (2005-2007)

Not suitable for: the Evo 4, 5 or 6 (CN9A/CP9A) or the Evo X (CZ4A).

Installation

Fit with the car safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. Set both ends to the same hole. Start on the softest setting and go firmer to increase rotation. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. We recommend professional fitting.

Which of the three holes should I use?

Start on the softest hole with both sides set the same. Each firmer hole adds rear roll stiffness and makes the car rotate more, so step up one hole at a time.

Do I need new drop links?

The standard links can be reused. If your links are worn or the car is lowered, the Hardrace reinforced rear drop links for the Evo are a good match.

Does it fit the Evo 5, 6 or X?

No. It is listed for the CT9A Evo 7, 8 and 9 only.

Should I fit the front bar too?

Fitting the matching Hardrace 2-way adjustable front bar as well gives you control over roll and balance at both ends.

Do I need an alignment?

No. An anti-roll bar does not change the alignment settings.

Is it road legal?

Yes, it is a bolt-on suspension part. Tell your insurer about the modification.
