Hardrace Front Sway Bar 36mm for Ford Mustang S550 / S650 – 2-Hole Adjustable Hollow Bar, Upgrade From The 33mm OE Bar
Hardrace's 36mm front sway bar for the Ford Mustang S550 and S650 is a thicker, hollow replacement for the 33mm factory bar. It reduces body roll and front-end dive in quick direction changes, which makes the steering feel sharper and the car more stable in high-speed corners.
With two holes at each end, the sway bar is 2-way adjustable, so you can pick a setting for road or track and use it to tune the car's under- or oversteer balance. It is heat treated, designed as a direct OE replacement and supplied as a five-piece kit.
Pair it with the Hardrace 25.4mm adjustable rear sway bar for full control over the Mustang's balance.

Not suitable for: earlier Mustang generations such as the S197 (2005-2014), as Hardrace lists this front bar only for the S550 and S650.
Installation
Fit with the car safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. Set both ends of the bar to the same hole. Start on the softer hole and go firmer only if you want less front roll. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. We recommend professional fitting.

Does it fit the S650 Mustang?
Yes. Hardrace added the Mk7 S650 (2024-present) to this bar's fitment in November 2024, so it covers both the S550 and the S650.
Will it fit the facelifted 2018-on S550?
Yes. Hardrace lists the bar for the whole S550 run from 2015 to 2023, which includes the facelift cars.
Does it fit both the EcoBoost and the V8?
Hardrace lists the Mustang S550 and S650 without any engine exclusions, so it covers both the 2.3 EcoBoost and the 5.0 V8. If you have a Shelby or a special-edition car with unusual suspension, check with us before ordering.
Will a stiffer front bar add understeer?
On its own, a little, which can help calm a powerful rear-drive car. If you want less roll without shifting the balance, fit the Hardrace rear bar as well and use the adjustment on each bar to fine-tune.
Which hole should I start on?
Start on the softer hole and set both sides the same. Move to the firmer hole only if you want less front roll and are happy with a touch more understeer.
Can I reuse my standard drop links?
Yes, the bar is designed as a direct replacement. If the car is lowered, adjustable drop links let you set the bar level at rest so it doesn't carry a preload.
Do I need a wheel alignment?
No. An anti-roll bar doesn't change the alignment settings. You only need one if you change the springs or ride height at the same time.
Is it road legal?
Yes, it is a bolt-on suspension upgrade. Remember to tell your insurer about any modifications.
