Hardrace Rear Sway Bar 25.4mm – VW Golf GTI Mk7 / Mk8, Audi A3, Skoda Octavia and MQB FWD Models
Front-drive MQB cars such as the Golf GTI are quick but tend to push wide when driven hard. Hardrace's hollow 25.4mm rear sway bar counters that by increasing rear roll stiffness, giving a flatter, more neutral car.
It bolts into the factory rear mounts on a wide range of VW, Audi and Skoda models. It is for front-wheel-drive cars only. 4Motion and quattro models need the AWD version.

Not suitable for: 4Motion or quattro AWD models such as the Golf R Mk7, which need the Hardrace 25.4mm rear anti-roll bar for AWD models.
Installation
Fit with the car safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. Check whether your car is FWD or 4Motion/quattro before ordering. We recommend professional fitting.

Does it fit the Golf R or other 4Motion models?
No. This bar is for front-wheel-drive cars only. AWD models such as the Golf R Mk7 need the AWD version linked in the Fitment section.
Does it fit the Golf GTI Clubsport?
The GTI and GTI Clubsport are front-wheel drive, so they are covered by the FWD fitment. If your car has an unusual spec, check with us before ordering.
Will it fit my Audi A3 or Skoda Octavia?
Yes, if it is a front-wheel-drive A3 8V/8Y or Octavia Mk3/Mk4. Quattro and 4x4 versions are not covered by this bar; check the AWD version for the models it lists.
Do I need an alignment?
No. An anti-roll bar does not change the alignment settings.
Should I fit the front bar too?
The rear bar alone gives the biggest change in balance on a front-drive car. Adding the Hardrace 28mm front bar cuts roll further at both ends.
Is it road legal?
Yes, it is a bolt-on suspension part. Tell your insurer about the modification.
The warranty on Hardrace products depends on the type of product, with a minimum warranty period of 2 years. This warranty does not cover damage caused by a car crash, improper use, negligence or normal wear and tear.
