Hardrace Front Sway Bar 28mm for Ford Focus Mk4 and Focus ST 2.3 – 2-Hole Adjustable Hollow Bar, 5-Piece Kit
Hardrace's 28mm front sway bar for the Ford Focus Mk4 is a hollow, heat-treated replacement for the factory front bar. It reduces body roll and makes the front end feel tighter and more precise, which suits both fast road driving and track days.
The sway bar is 2-way adjustable, with two holes at each end, so you can set it softer or firmer to tune the car's balance. It is designed as a direct OE replacement and comes as a five-piece kit for the Focus's original mounts.
It fits non-ST Focus Mk4 models and the 2.3 ST. Hardrace also makes Mk4 rear sway bars for torsion-beam cars, multi-link cars, the ST hatchback and the ST estate, so you can build a matched pair.

Fitment

- Ford Focus ST Mk4 (2019-2025), 2.3 EcoBoost
Not suitable for: Focus ST Mk4 models other than the 2.3 EcoBoost, such as the 2.0 EcoBlue diesel ST, which Hardrace's note does not cover, or the Focus Mk3, which needs the Hardrace 28mm adjustable front anti-roll bar for Focus Mk3.
Installation
Fit with the car safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. Set both ends of the bar to the same hole. Start on the softer hole and go firmer only if you want less front roll, as it also adds understeer. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. We recommend professional fitting.

Does it fit the Focus ST Mk4?
Yes, the 2.3 EcoBoost ST. Hardrace's note says the bar is for non-ST models and the 2.3 ST, so the 2.0 EcoBlue diesel ST isn't covered.
Does it fit the ST-Line, Titanium and Active models?
Hardrace lists the bar for all non-ST Focus Mk4 models, so ST-Line, Titanium, Zetec and Active versions are covered. The rear axle type doesn't matter for this front bar.
Which rear bar should I pair it with?
It depends on your rear axle. Torsion-beam cars take the 17mm add-on bar, multi-link non-ST cars take the 22mm rear bar, and the ST has its own 25.4mm bars for the hatchback and estate.
Will a stiffer front bar add understeer?
On its own, a little, because the Focus is front-wheel drive. Fitting a Hardrace rear bar as well cuts roll at both ends and keeps the car's balance neutral or slightly more agile.
Which hole should I start on?
Start on the softer hole and set both sides the same. Only move to the firmer hole if you want less front roll and accept a touch more understeer.
Can I reuse my standard drop links?
Yes, the bar is designed as a direct replacement. If the car is lowered, check that the drop links aren't at an extreme angle at rest.
Do I need a wheel alignment?
No. An anti-roll bar doesn't change the alignment settings. You only need one if you change the springs or ride height at the same time.
Is it road legal?
Yes, it is a bolt-on suspension upgrade. Remember to tell your insurer about any modifications.
