Description
Hardrace Front Sway Bar 30mm – Honda Civic Type R FK8 – Bolt-On Front Roll Control
Hardrace's 30mm front sway bar gives the FK8 Civic Type R tighter control of front body roll for crisper direction changes and a flatter stance through quick corners.
It is a bolt-on replacement for the standard bar, and it pairs with the Hardrace 22mm FK8 rear bar for roll control at both ends.
Key Features
- 30mm bar to reduce front body roll
- Quicker steering response and turn-in
- Bolts into the factory mounting points
- Pairs with the Hardrace FK8 22mm rear bar
- For road and track use
What's in the Kit?
- 1 x 30mm front anti-roll bar
- Mounting bushes and fittings (3 pieces in total)
Fitment
- Honda Civic Type R FK8 (2017-2022)
Not suitable for: non-Type R 10th-generation Civics (FC/FK), which need the Hardrace 28mm adjustable front anti-roll bar, or the FL5 Type R.
Installation
Fit with the car safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. We recommend professional fitting.
Upgrade Further
Will a thicker front bar add understeer?
Fitted on its own it can add a little understeer. Pairing it with the Hardrace 22mm FK8 rear bar keeps the balance neutral while cutting roll at both ends.
Does it fit the FL5 or the non-Type R Civic?
No. It is listed for the FK8 Type R only. Non-Type R 10th-gen Civics use a different front bar, linked in the Fitment section.
Do I need an alignment?
No. An anti-roll bar does not change the alignment settings.
Can I reuse the standard drop links?
Yes. On a lowered car, check that the bar sits level at rest. Adjustable links make that easy.
Is it road legal?
Yes, it is a bolt-on suspension upgrade. Tell your insurer about any modifications.
How do I stop the bushes squeaking?
Tighten the bush brackets with the car at ride height, and refresh the bush grease if a squeak develops over time.
