This 2-way adjustable 32mm front sway bar is Hardrace's answer to body roll on the sixth-generation Toyota Hiace H300 and the Granvia and Granace. Two settings let you pick a firmer or softer front end to suit how the van is used and loaded.

The sway bar is hollow and heat treated, and it fits the original front mounts as an OE direct replacement. Combine it with the Hardrace 30mm rear bar for a flatter, more stable van at both axles.

Not suitable for: the earlier H200 Hiace (2004-2019) or older models. Hardrace only lists this bar for the H300 platform.

Installation

Fit with the vehicle safely supported on a ramp or axle stands. Undo the drop links and the bush brackets, then remove the original bar. Fit the Hardrace bar with its new bushes, refit the brackets and drop links, and tighten everything to the vehicle manufacturer's torque figures with the suspension loaded at normal ride height. If you tighten the bushes with the wheels hanging, they are pre-loaded and can squeak or wear early. Set both ends of the bar to the same hole. Start on the softer setting and only go firmer if you want less front roll. No wheel alignment is needed for the bar alone. We recommend professional fitting.

Does it fit the Granvia and Granace?

Yes. Hardrace lists the Hiace, Granvia and Granace on the H300 platform from 2019 onwards for this bar.

Will it fit my H200 Hiace?

No. This bar is only listed for the H300 generation from 2019. The H200 has a different chassis and suspension layout.

Which setting should I start on?

Start on the softer setting and set both sides the same. Move to the firmer position only if you want less front roll, as it can add some understeer.

Will it make the van ride harder?

An anti-roll bar mainly works when the van leans, so the straight-line ride over bumps that hit both wheels changes very little. You will notice less lean in corners and less sway in crosswinds.

Should I fit the rear bar as well?

For the best balance, yes. The Hardrace 30mm rear bar reduces roll at the back, and fitting both keeps the handling more neutral than a front bar alone.

Do I need adjustable drop links?

Not on a standard-height van. If the van is lowered, adjustable links let you set the bar level at rest so it works evenly.

Do I need an alignment?

No. An anti-roll bar doesn't change the alignment settings. You only need one if you change the ride height or other suspension parts at the same time.
